Model YG041 Raw Cotton Analyzer
Product Instructions
1.USAGE & BASIC WORKING PRINCIPLE
The machine is used for judging the contents of the impurity in raw cotton and provides the basis for textile engineer designing and evaluating the grade of the cotter. Its principle is to utilize the deference specify gravity between the cotton fibres and impurities through the function of the opening-carding and stream current to separate the impurities from the cotton fibres.
2.MAIN CONSTRUCTIONS & TECHNOLOGICAL PROCESS
The main parts of The machine are composed of the side plates, feeding device,saw-tooth drum, fan and driving-gear etc, which are connected together as an integral machine by two vertical frame plates. On the front and rear sides of the machine are equipped with closed doors. The sealing arrangement is setting up the top cover; both sides of the machine are equipped with the guards.
The lighting device with a lower voltage bulb(24V.5W) is located on the upper portion of the impurity box. Red button on the switch board is stopping device, to stop the running of the machine by pushing down this button about 3~4 seconds. Green button is start device.

4. Form of transmission
The machine is driven by a single motor and running as follows:

5.Operation & trial:
5.1 Preperation
5.1.1 Check the motor turning direction, and adjust gaps between every parts.
5.1.2 Turn on the lighting-lamp, run the machine for 1~2 minutes and clean the impurity box, clean cotton box and cotton feed table.
5.1.3 Install the connect plate of feed table.
5.2 Operation
5.2.1 Close the front door and rear door.
5.2.2 Pull the sample (50 or 100g accurate to 0.1g) by hand in loose and natural state, and put it equally on the connect plate and the cotton feed table. Cottonseeds, seeds cottons and the other large impurities should be picked out., then do records.
5.2.3 Push the green button and the machine runs normally. Feed the sample with two fingers bending close to the feed roller between roller and cotton feed table. After cotton fibre appears in the clean cotton box, let it do auto-feeding. Sometime feed cotton by hand when the fibre is separate.
5.2.4 After ending the operation of the sample, the saw-tooth drum should be stopped running by pushing down the red button about 3~4 seconds. As soon as the machine stop running the red button should be released immediately, otherwise the drum will rotate counterclockwise.
5.2.5 After the saw-tooth drum stops running, get out all the clean cotton of the first operation from the clean cotton box. Spread it lengthways on the connect plate and cotton feed table. See the steps 5.2.3~5.2.4 to do the second operation, and then get out all the clean cotton.
5.2.6 Stop the machine and brush out all trashes around the impurity box including sideboards, crosspieces, the connect plate and the cotton feed table. If there are cotton ball or tiny thread or fibre on the impurity basin, pick them without any impurities.
5.2.7 Weight the collected impurities by a balance exact to 0.01g.
5.2.8 Impurity rate calculate as: Impurity rate = W/S*100%

5.2.9 Keep the humidity stable during weighting the quality.
6. Maintenance & Lubrication
6.1 The left side and the right side guards should be fixed up before running to avoid accidents.
6.2 Check up frequently if the gaps between the drum and the mote knife, the stream-line knife, the feed table are confirm to the requirements.
6.3 Be sure don’t damage the knives’ edges when cleaning the machine.
6.4 Turn the drum by hands before first running, to make sure that there is no abnormal noise, and then start it.
6.5 All cleaning work should be done after the machine is stopped running. If it is necessary to disassemble the lower side guards, top cover or to make trial, the machine should be cutoff to avoid accidents.
6.6 The inner surface of left and right wind tunnels should be cleaned periodically.
6.7 If the machine stop to use for more than ten days, the surface of the saw-tooth drum should be wrapped with rust-proof paper to avoid the rustiness of saw-tooth.
6.8 If there are more fibres or cotton seeds to be clogged on the drum during running, the sample should be stopped to feed and let the drum to run idle for two or three minutes. If the drum still be clogged by it, stop running and clean the machine.
6.9 Fill the compression oil cups with grease once every week.
6.10 Oillet or slide friction parts such as roller clamping blocks, roller shaft collares are suggested to oil once every two or three days. Be carefull not to fill too much to avoid leakage.
6.11 Clean up the machine after every shift or the work is done.
7. Precautions on machine handling or unpacking and installation.
7.1 During handling or unpacking machine, the packing container should not be shocked or vibrated intensely. Any time be sure to avoid the machine inclined too much. It must be kept in balance and never upside-down.
7.2 The machine should be unpacked indoor, when unpacking the container. It is necessary to do as follow : firstly open the top cover, then disassemble four sides, be sure don’t shock too fierce to avoid damage the machine.
7.3 The machine must put over the flat ground at the state of stable equilibrium.
7.4 After installation of the machine, taking off the left and right guards then clean up rust preventer from the V-belt pulley with the rags. When clean up the drum the top cover should be taken off first, the brush odd the rust-preventer with acetone gasoline. Meantime, the thin rust-proof oil paper should be put on the mote and streamline knife edges to separate them from drum in order to avoid the oily soil stick on the edges.
7.5 When the machine has need to be removed indoor or out door, the left and right side guards may be taken off first, then to remove it by hands or trailer. Meantime, be sure to put the machine stability to avoid inclined.
7.6 Before start to operate the machine, be sure to study operating instructions carefully in order to get familiar with the principle, performances, structures, operating methods and precautions ect. of the machine.
8. The adjustment of the gap and other placements
8.1 Feed table and drum (see fig.2)
8.1.1 loosen the two screws 1,2
8.1.2 loosen the two bolts 3,4
8.1.3 adjust the bolt 3
8.1.3.1 according to the required gap size adjust the left and right end gaps by using the gap gauges. Be sure to make both end gaps are coincidence.
8.1.3.2 fixing 026, on the left and right end of 025, tightly next to the curved surface of 0201.
8.1.4 Tighten 1.2.4.5
8.2 Mote knife and drum (see fig.2)
8.2.1 loosen the bolts 6,7
8.2.2 according to the required gap size adjust the left and right end gaps by using the gap gauges. Be sure to make both end gaps are coincidence.
8.2.3 tighten the two bolts 6,7.
8.3 Stream-line plate and drum (see fig. 2)
8.3.1 loosen the two bolts 8,9.
8.3.2 according to the required gap size adjust the left and right end gaps by using the gap gauges. Be sure to make both end gaps are coincidence.
8.3.3 tighten the two bolts 8,9 respectively.
8.4 Stream current adjusting plate and rollers (see fig 2)
8.4.1 loosen the two bolts 1,2
8.4.2 according to the required gap size adjust the left and right end gaps by using the gap gauges. Be sure to make both end gaps are coincidence.
8.4.3 tighten the two bolts 1,2
8.5 Griping force adjustment (see fig 2)
Turn the grip 10 to a proper position. When turned clockwise the force is increased otherwise is decreased.
8.6 Loosening or tightening adjustment of the belt (see fig.1)
8.6.1 loosen the belt 19
8.6.2 Press the lever 20 to tighten the belt otherwise the belt will be loosen adjust it to a proper position.
8.6.3 tighten the blots 19.
8.7 Quantity of the wind adjustment (see fig 1)
8.7.1 In general, the wind outlet adjusting funnel does not connect to the wind outlet funnel.
8.7.2 When adjust the quantity of the wind, the wind outlet adjusting funnel may be connected to the wind outlet funnel by bolts as it is necessary. (There are two wind outlet adjusting funnel as an appendage of the machine, among them the size of the hole is proportional to the adjusting of wind.
9. Malfunctions, causations and Settlements
9.1 Malfunction: Fibres can not separate from the drum.
Causation: 1. Wind current is abnormal.
2. Cotton has been fed too much or less.
3. The tooth of the drum has been distortion. There are stings, rust, oil dirt or cotton seed clogging between saw-teeth.
4. Cotton is over wet, the humidity of working surrounding is too big.
Effectings: 1. There are too many fibres around the drum, lots of separated fibres go to the impurity plate. The analyzing ability goes down.
2. There are too many fibres around the drum, and the motor knife or stream-line knife will easily lock the drum. Then the drum will stop running.
Settlements: 1. Stop feeding cotton, let the drum go on running for about 1 minute.
2. Correct and burnish the saws.
3. Feed the cotton as the standard quantity.
4. Clean out the clogged cotton seeds and oil dirt.
5. Powder the drum’s surface with some talcum powder, and wipe it clean.
6. Spread the over wet cotton, and do the operation after the water is volatilized.
7. Feed the hot cotton by drying first.
9.2 Malfunction: There are too many fabres falling in the operation room.
Causation: 1. Wind current is abnormal.
2. Front door or rear door has not been closed. Or some other wind tunnels are air-leak.
3. Wind tunnels are blocked.
Settlements: 1. Closed the front and gear doors tightly.
2. Check the air-leak parts and block them.
3. Open the top guard, clean the upper part of cotton collecting mesh plate.
4. Adjust the tight degree of belts to make sure the fan runs as 1210±50 circles/minutes.
9.3 Malfunction: There is massive cotton falling in the operation room.
Causation: 1. The saws of the drum are not sharp enough.
2. The sample cotton has not been pulled loose and equally
Effecting: The operation result will not exact.
Settlements: 1. Burnish the saws or change new saws id required.
2.Pull the sample cotton loose enough and spread it equally enough on the table so as to be fed in at a same speed.
9.4 Malfunction: There are fibres on the streamline knife of motor knife
Causation: The edges of knives are not smooth by oil dirt, nick or rust.
Effecting: These fibres may fall into the impurity plate.
Settlements: Burnish and clean the knife edges, and electroplate the knives if they have been rusted badly.
9.5 Malfunction: First turbine box is jumping.
Causation: The dowel between first turbine pole and right spindle of the drum are loosened.
Effecting: Overload the machine, affect the transmission and even damage the the first and second turbine pole.
Settlements: 1.Tighten the dowel.
2.Change a new dowel.
9.6 Malfunction: The motor give out some noise and the machine running speed decreases,
Causation: Three phase motor is lack of phase or its on-off fuse has got loose.
Effecting: The machine does not work normally.
Settlements: Stop the machine. Cut off the power and then tighten the fuse or change it.
9.7 Malfunction: Running speed goes down.
Causation: 1. Belts do skidding.
2. Some parts run difficultly so as to increase the machine’s load.
Effecting: There are too many fabres falling in the operation room.
Settlements: 1. Tighten the belts.
2. Maintain the machine as this instruction.
